I'm a colour junkie. Like sound and music colour animation and form can facilitate transcendence to the sublime and blissful. Getting a fix of music is easy these days, doing the same with colour is not so, we have to search around to find media, print, nature, art, fabrics and pigment, all of which manifest colour on an object, I like to make colour simply as light, after all that's what we really see.

So I like to make colour animations in light and form which are played on sculptural objects or a simple uncluttered surface such as Chromawall. Now with EllieDelight I have been able to manifest what was (and still is) a costly process into a medium affordable to everyone.

I first discovered the process almost by chance in the late 70's when I was designing lighting controllers for discos. I couldn't do anything with it at the time but the concept stayed with me until I could contain it no longer and I made my first colour changing lamps in the early 90's when I formed the Colour Light Company. Since then my work has lead me organically, I love embracing new technology, so vital in this arena, I love finding new materials which work with light, I love finding flow in light, music and dance, the energising animation of it all, empowering, nurturing, stimulating and replenishing.

EllieDelight is like a child to me, she is born and will now go out into the world. Many people will pass her by, not stopping to see within, others will stop and look and some will be touched by her radiance… knowing that makes me feel good.
